The time when my house nearly caught on fire...

So last week, I made spaghetti and I had garlic bread in the oven (yum, right?).  When it was done (5 minutes later) I turned the oven off.  Only....it didn't go off and I didn't notice.  We ate dinner, did bath time, and got ready for bed.  Meanwhile, Chris came home and smelled something burning.  Thank goodness he did because I didn't!  He finally saw that the oven was ON!  I had turned the knobs off, but the oven kept getting hotter and hotter.  It was crazy.  We ended up turning off the breaker.  After some research, we found out that we could not buy the part that we needed so...

We have now welcomed this little gem into our home.  I kinda like the double oven :).  I can't wait to use it.

I loved the book...until the end that is.  It was a page turner and I read it really quickly.  I was totally invested, but so disappointed by the ending.  First, I found it a little over the top and cheesy.  Second, I was left wondering what happened to the mother.  Her case was never resolved.  I would have liked to see some resolution with the mother's case as well as with the father and his Dad.  I feel like it had so much potential, but ultimately left me hanging.  What were your thoughts?



Spider-man birthday

Mia and Pax's school friend had a spider-man birthday party this weekend and it was AWESOME!  I'm not going to lie...I was dreading it.  I knew I wouldn't know anyone and it was in a small room that was rented in our local community center.  I was so impressed and the reason....was spider-man!  Here in Southern MD, you can "rent" a superhero for a party. Spider-man came--he posed for pictures, he colored with the kids, he told how to be a super hero (listen to your parents, always do the right thing, don't be a bully, etc.), and gave them each a super hero certificate. 

They really are best friends.

It was really awesome!  I was so impressed with Spiderman--he was great with the kids and really made the party so much fun.  My kids LOVED it!

Weekend Recap

We had a lot going on this weekend.  We had our family from Wisconsin in town, Swim lessons, and a spider-man birthday party.  Fun times.....  I'll recap the birthday party tomorrow, but here's some other pics.

Yup....another Wreath

I don't know how I had any free time this weekend, but I managed to knock out another wreath.  I found a heart form at JoAnn Fabrics...along with this cute red and pink fabric.  I cut it into 6 inch strips and tied it in knots.  I kinda like it.

We celebrated my friend Laura's daughter, Natalie's 2nd birthday over the weekend and we went bowling.  The kids had a great time (despite the pictures of Pax on the ground). 

They started off letting us help.

Next thing I know, Mia is running and throwing the ball down the lane.

Rare Disease Day

Last Friday, February 28th was Rare Disease Day.  A day to bring awareness to those suffering from Rare Diseases.  We wore blue in honor of our friend Julie's daughter Abby.  Abby has CCMS.  You can read about her journey here.

Please keep Abby in your prayers.  She has some big surgeries coming up.  She is an amazing and strong little girl...and we are lucky to know her.
