Mia's 1st Day of Kindergarten

This week has been a hectic one.  My first baby, my little girl started kindergarten.  I really thought I would take it well.  I had spent months preparing myself for this day.  Tuesday morning, we woke up bright and early--I should clarify--Mia woke us up bright and early.  She was super excited to ride the bus to school on her first day.  We spent the morning trying on different outfits and deciding what to wear.  Of course, she would NEVER pick what I recommended (and the outfit I specifically bought her for her first day), but....whatever.  After, we ate breakfast and took pictures.  First we got a few inside.

That didn't last long....Mia was really excited about the bus so we then walked to the bus stop.
That's right...I documented everything.

Did I mention how excited she was??
So...then we waited...
And got more pictures....

and more pictures...

Then we waited some more...

Still waiting...

a little hugging...

more posing for pictures...

more waiting...

By this time...I'm getting a little worried, but still snapping pictures

Mia's starting to get bored...

She's about done now...

So...we change positions and wait some more...

and take more pictures...

Couldn't leave out my little man

I love his smile...

So, while we are still waiting, we decide to talk to Uncle Dougie on the phone...

Then wait some more...

There are no pictures after this....as the bus NEVER showed up.  All of that excitement...gone.  It turned to devastation.  She cried and cried and cried.  We drove her to school.  Of course, by then, she was almost late.  She was very upset and anxious.  She wouldn't let me go.  The teacher literally pried her little fingers from my arm.  It was awful.  I was upset all morning.  Not only had my baby gone off to kindergarten, but she went off in tears.  I worried ALL day.  At 3:30, I arrived back at the school.  Being the helicopter mom that I am, I wanted to be sure my daughter got on the bus.  So, I pulled up by the school and watched.  The buses arrived 40 minutes late (thank goodness I wasn't at home to sit and worry as to why the bus was not here).

This is me...racing home so that I can beat the bus and get pictures.

Here is the bus...arriving 30 seconds later :)

One look at her smile and all of my worries faded...

She had a GREAT first day!  She made new friends and had fun.  Overall, all that worry was for nothing.  While I'm still sad to see her grow up so fast, I could not be more proud of my beautiful sweet girl.

Paxton's First Day of Preschool

Well, my last little baby started pre-k 4 this week (Monday, August 18th).  I have to say, I almost cried.  While it is the same daycare/learning center, it hit me when I saw his name on the big kid table.  He really loved posing for his 1st day of Pre-K pictures.

I love this silly kid.

This little boy always makes me smile.  His laugh is contagious and his smile, infectious.  He is so sweet and so funny.  I'm so proud of my awesome little man.

Grief

It's been 2 1/2 months since my Dad passed away and I feel no more at peace than I did 2-3 months ago.  My Dad was my most trusted advisor.  He was one of the only 2 people in this world (Chris being the 2nd) that I truly talked to about everything.  I could go to him for advise on everything from my kids, my mom, and career.  He never tried to sway me to take his advice, but always simply told me what he thought and his reasons behind it.  He was one of my best friends.  And now...he's gone.  The worst days are Monday - Thursday.  I am so used to emailing him all day and calling him on my drive home.  Even still...I have to fight the urge to call him and I still finding myself emailing him, even though I know he won't respond.  I'm hoping at some point I'll adjust to this "new normal".

Sibbling Love

While no family is perfect and my kids certainly fight, I'm so lucky and so happy that they love each other.  They play together much more than they fight.

The Book of Revelation made Clear- Book Review

I received this book for free in return for my honest opinion.
This book intrigued me because I've always been interested in the book of Revelation. There are so many things that I don't quite understand so I thought this book would be helpful.  I am also a fan of  Tim LaHaye books so that was an added bonus. I like this book because is actually breaks down every verse.  There is a pre-quiz before every verse.  Next it shows you the verse and explains it in detail.  At the end of each verse is a post-test.  It may seem like a lot, but I loved it!  I had read the book of Revelations before, but I still got most of the answers wrong on the pre-test.  By the time I took the post-test, I got them all right.  I also remembered what I had read, even later on.  I thought that was very helpful.

Highly recommend!
