Dear Paxton,
I felt the urge to write you a letter recently to just update you on your life. Little man...you amaze me every day with your resiliency and your ability to smile through almost anything. It's really inspiring. I admire so much about you. You are so happy...all the time. You always have a smile, a hug, or a kiss for me.
This winter has been rough for you. You completed your feeding program in December; however, we are still going up to Baltimore biweekly for therapy. You have finally started eating whole cheerios, but it isn't without a fight. I'm sorry we have to restrain you. We don't want to, but we have to help you learn to move the food around in your mouth and chew. It really breaks my heart some days. But what has made this winter even more tough are your constant ear infections. Both of your tubes are no longer functioning and you are finally recovering from your 3rd or maybe 4th ear infection in a row. Unfortunately, this time you ruptured an ear drum and your ear was bleeding. That was horrible, but you were a champ!
This picture was taken after leaving the Dr's office. You are seriously always this happy. I feel so lucky to be your mommy. You have taught me so much ...mainly patience, which I was (and still am) reluctant to learn.
This morning, you came in my room when I was getting ready for work and we brushed our teeth together. Just the little things that I can share with you make my day so special.
You have brought us so much joy, laughter, and pure happiness. Your smile is infectous and your laughter contageous. You sing and dance with no inhabitions and you love with everything you have. You even love your sister.
I love watching you two together...holding hands...hugging...singing and dancing together. It is so precious and melts my heart. I hope you always remember how much you love each other and how much we love you.
I love you forever,
Mommy
